Assistance with Collecting Veteran Pension and Benefits
As an Elderly or Senior Veteran or spouse of the Unite States of America, financial assistance from the Veteran Administration is the government’s way of saying ‘thank you for serving our country.’ Elder Veterans who are low-income and meet the minimum requirements of having served at least 90 days of active duty and at least one day during a wartime period are eligible for Veterans’ Pens
ion, which translates to monthly payments of the sum of the difference between your countable income and the annual pension limit set by Congress.
Elder Veterans may also be eligible for a benefit called Aid and Attendance in which the Veteran must have proof that they require the aid of another person for activities of daily living and personal care services such as feeding, bathing, dressing, or safety in the home. The benefit can provide the Veteran with additional income for medical expenses or home care services.
In Home Care support for Elder and Senior veterans
At A-1 Home Care, we provide assistance for Elder and Senior veterans when they’re preparing to apply for Veterans’ Pension or the Aid and Attendance benefit. We can help your loved one sort out their countable income and net worth to compare with the Maximum Annual Pension Rate to get an estimate of how much money they may be eligible for. If you’re eligible for the Aid and Attendance benefit as well, we can help secure and compile your evidence to submit to the VA regional office and ensure that you qualify for the benefit.
If your loved one has long term insurance we accept Penn Treaty, John Hancock, CALPERS, MetLife Insurance, Veteran Administration, and Bankers’ Life & Casualty.
