All LTC policies are different and have limitations on how long you’re covered or how much will be paid towards your care.  Be sure to discuss these points with your insurance broker to find the best policy for your family.

Coverage will depend on your insurance type and the company underwriting the policy.  Some policies provide payments for two to five years, others may pay for as long as you live.

Who Pays

Home Care Agencies must be approved by your insurance company and will bill you directly on a monthly basis then submit all necessary forms to the insurance company.  Once information is submitted, the insurance company reimburses you. 

Using a home care agency that is experienced with Long Term Care Insurance is key to receiving your reimbursement in a timely manner.  Forms and information must submit correctly and on schedule or the reimbursement will be delayed.  Documents will include the Care Plan, Case Notes, Invoices and other information.
