Home Care Services for Traumatic Brain Injuries
Experiencing a Traumatic Brain Injury in old age can have serious detrimental effects to your loved one’s physical, mental, and behavioral health. Elderly brain injury is most commonly associated with falls in the home and blunt trauma to the head that may cause a cerebral contusion, intracranial hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, or other complication. Depending on what part of the brain was injured, the damage can be temporary or long term and affect bodily functions such as memory loss, ability to process information, speech, language, and swallowing issues, behavioral issues, mobility and balance limitations, and loss of vision, hearing, or smell.
